Dr. Bhuvan Unhelkar

Dr Bhuvan Unhelkar has 26 years of professional experience in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and their application to business and management. His vast international experience in various roles has provided strategic leadership and guidance in capability enhancement (process and quality), software engineering (modelling with UML and BPMN), testing, information architecture, enterprise globalisation, outsourcing and mobile business. He is an Executive consultant with global experience in providing focused facilitation and master trainer to senior business executives and ICT professionals. His domain expertise is in financial markets, banking, insurance, retail and government.

Dr Unhelkar did his Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Science from UTS, Sydney. He did his Master Diploma in Business Administration & Bachelor of Engineering (Electronics) from India.

Dr Unhelkar brings unique blend of industry and academics to the ECI board. He has written books are on UML, Object Oriented Analysis & Design and Mobile Computing. He was involved in giving seminars on "Delivery of Mobile Enterprise Transitions & Management" (focus on Mobile Web Services and Mobile Collaboration) and Delivery of Telephony Directions - Evolution & Revolution (focus on Internet Telephony) across 8 cities in Australia between 2005 and 2006.

His core expertise lies in Information Strategy Development, Capability Enhancement (with Process Development and Deployment), Business Analysis (with UML, BPMN) and Authoring, Technical Writing, Reviews.

His industrial experience includes working with large MNCs such as Boeing, Dow Jones (Telerate), FreddieMac, ANZ Grindlays (India - Bangalore), Australian Taxation Office, Raytheon (Defense) etc.
A native of Vadodara, India, Dr Unhelkar has lived in Australia since 1986. His wife, Asha, works as a Senior Business Analyst. Daughter Sonki is studying for her MBBS and son Keshav is in year 8 in Knox Grammar school. Bhuvan is an avid reader of J. Krishnamurti and Osho; loves to listen to Indian classical music; occasionally strums his guitar and plays flute/harmonica; is a Rotarian at St. Ives; a keen bushwalker and a volunteer at NSW parks and wildlife.
